When you purchase your new Countryside home, you can be confident it has been built to the highest of standards, but to give you added reassurance all of our homes come with a new home 10-year warranty.

Our continued support, for peace of mind

For the first two years after completion, your new home is covered by your Countryside Homes two-year warranty. This is supported by your regional Customer Service team who are also available to provide you with advice, and by an out of hours service that has professional tradespeople on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This out of hours service covers emergency situations in the rare event that your property is left without power, water, or heating.

Your Countryside Homes two-year warranty commences from the day you legally complete on your new home. We build your new home to the standard required to obtain the warranty and insurance cover provided by National House-Building Council (NHBC) or a similar provider.

The NHBC warranty and insurance policy, known as Buildmark, gives you added comfort and reassurance when you buy with us. The 10-year Buildmark policy provides the following cover:

 

·       Insolvency cover: If Countryside Homes were to become insolvent, and we were therefore unable to finish the construction of your home, NHBC may repay your deposit or any reasonable extra amount you have to pay for your home to be finished.

·       Builder warranty period: For the first two years after legal completion, your new home is covered by your Countryside Homes two-year warranty. This is supported by your regional Customer Service team who are also available to provide you with advice, and by an out of hours service that has professional tradespeople on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. ·       Insurance cover: In the eight years that follow the builder warranty period, NHBC (or another recognised warranty provider such as LABC Warranty or Premier Guarantee) provides insurance cover for damage caused by defects to certain parts of the home.

 

What does the warranty cover?

For the first two years from the date of legal completion, Countryside Homes covers any defects to your home caused by faulty materials or workmanship. While every care will be taken to ensure your home is handed over without any problems, there can occasionally be some minor issues, these are known as snags. During years 3 – 10, your insurance provider insures you against any damage that results from structural defects in your new Bovis Home, giving you complete peace of mind.

In addition, you will benefit from some specific guarantees provided by the suppliers of fixtures in your home, e.g., appliances. Please contact your Sales Consultant if you require any detailed information.

Selling your home

Should you sell your home, whilst it is still within the 10-year warranty period, the cover transfers to the new owners once they provide us with proof of ownership; another added benefit of buying new.
