Finding the perfect family home at Beaulieu, Chelmsford

Making the switch from being renters to being homeowners has made all the difference for Dr Vamshidar Gudichuttu and his wife Kiranmai.

Well settled in the Chelmsford area, Dr Vamshidhar works at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford and Dr Kiranmai works in a dental practice in Colchester, the couple were bringing up their young family in the Springfield part of the city. After securing permanent visas to live in the UK, owning their own home became a priority and purchasing a brand new home was the ultimate goal. Pretty quickly, Beaulieu Heath was at the top of the list of locations to buy.

Vamshidar explains: “We were renting our house in Springfield, but we didn’t feel very free in that rented house, so we decided to buy. A rented house is a house, but now we have a home. We bought the Turnstone house style and the way the design utilises the space is very important to us.

“We really love living here and we enjoy being part of this community. We have two kids and it is really easy for them to get to school. The most important thing is the kids like their schools very much. They are very happy in the school so that makes us more comfortable to be living in this place.”

As the first all-through school in Essex and now rated Outstanding by Ofsted, Beaulieu Park School was built as part of the development of this part of Chelmsford. It features state-of-the-art specialist facilities, including technology and science labs, art classrooms and an expanse of playing fields. But this is just one aspect of what gives Beaulieu such a strong sense of community.

Vamshidar continues: “Everybody here is very friendly. As we moved in at similar times, we got to know about each other very quickly. We all celebrate our festivals as well. We recently celebrated Diwali and people just joined in. It's so nice that we are also getting to know each other’s cultures.

There are more than 170 acres of green spaces within the Beaulieu site, including parks, village greens, meadows and community gardens, ideal if you are playing sport, going for a run or walking the dog.

Kiranmai adds: “I like the greenery most, and there are so many places for the kids to cycle. I love this community and I have made a lot of new friends. The children like the garden and we also have plenty of parks which they are able to explore –- they have made many friends here.”

The couple had concerns about buying a new house and how easy the process might be, but as soon as they spoke to the Countryside Homes sales team, they knew they were on the right path to getting hold of the keys to the home they’d always dreamt of.

Vamshidar says: “Purchasing a house can be quite a big hassle, but the Countryside team were excellent. I feel that their involvement in every step made us more comfortable.”

With a dedicated train station due for completion at the end of 2025 and a new bypass making access into Chelmsford much quicker, there are even more things to love about living at Beaulieu.

Now this is a family home that Vamshidar and Kiranmai see themselves staying in for many years to come.

Vamshidar adds: “My favourite things about living at Beaulieu Heath are my family, my community, my neighbours and my commute. Living in our own home like this is something we have been waiting for for a long time.”
